Darkness in the Delimbiyr
Temple of Garl Glittergold
“Nearly out of place but not quite” is how most locals would describe Garl’s temple, with its large fenced courtyard, filled with trees and few benches for quiet thought. It should be noted that the trees are always lush and in season, and the grass is always bright and green, and the grounds unseasonably warm – whether this is a trick from the king of tricksters, or genuine magic, noone is saying.
The bright stone of the walls frame ornate glass windows that contrast to the squat and stony buildings surrounding them, and the lone tower (if you could call it that, it’s barely two stories tall) is lovingly capped with deep cherry-hued shingles. This temple lacks the evangelising of others, and visitors may be surprised to find that most of the ceremonies held within emphasize friendships, togetherness and the earthy wisdom of Garl, to say nothing of his humour. Churlington Brightsmile considers his doors open to all residents of Zhedarak, but is usually busy with his near-continual tinkering with all things arcane and artifice.
The clergy will use their magical powers or gnomecraft skills for the benefit of travellers, but expect a donation in their stead. Naturally, those of the same faith as this temple can expect to pay half price for any and all spellcasting, but as long as it benefits the community, and not just the one who requested it.
